ABOUT PICASSO’S GARAGE
Art programs are tailored to a variety of skill levels and expose children to myriad materials and techniques including watercolour, pastel, printmaking, sculpture, sketching and more. Each session examines the works and styles of a historic or modern-day master including Emily Carr, Wassily Kandinsky, Maude Lewis, Georgia O'Keefe, Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock and Vincent Van Gogh, among others.
A BIT OF ART HISTORY
I have had great success with my approach using historic and modern day masters as a source of inspiration for the weekly art projects. In fact, this has been a model used in senior programs for decades... and is how I was trained in High school and as a commercial artist at University.
I design the curriculum personally basing my selections on artistic trends and skill development. The curriculum is constantly updated as many of our students have been with us from the beginning, since 2005!
In 2012, I started to create Art projects similar to Glee’s musical mash-ups. First to be feature was a combination of Emily Carr and Kandinsky!
